WAXING MOON: when the moon is on the increase, going from a small crescent to a full moon, from seven days after the new moon. Magick is best done at sunset. For rituals involving love, sex, and healing and for spells designed to increase magnetism, courage, growth of any kind, good luck, wealth, and friends. WANING MOON: when the moon is on the decrease, going from a full moon back to a crescent, or from seven days to ten days after the full moon. The waning moon rises at midnight and sets at noon. This is a good time to do spells related to exorcism, purging, banishing, reversal, release, endings, transformation, protection, disease, stress, divorce, and addictions. FULL MOON: the most effective time for prophecy and divination. The full moon is fourteen days after the new moon. Magick is most potent at midnight. Good for rituals dealing with motivation, self-improvement, decisions, communications, knowledge, wisdom, protection, spirit conjuration, dreams, premonitions, love, fertility, children/family, money, competition, and legal matters. NEW MOON: from the day of the new to three and a half days after. Magick should be performed between dawn and sunset. Effective for rituals concerning beauty, health, gardens, farms, job searching, romance/love, and protection are good to do during this time. CRESCENT MOON: from three and one half days after the new moon through the 7th day. Magick may be best if performed when the moon rises at midmorning and sets after sunset. For spells dealing with animals, change, business, material strength, emotions, and courage. GIBBOUS MOON: from ten to thirteen days after the new moon. Magick is best performed around 10:00 to 11:00 PM. This is a positive time to perform spells dealing with good patience, centering, purity, healing, protection, and innocence. This is also a good time to meditate. DARK MOON: from eleven to fourteen days after the full moon. Timing is best at 10:00 AM. This is a good time to do spells dealing with obstacles, change, divorce, removal, quarrels, separation, justice, enemies, stopping stalkers and theft, and improving relationships.
